Photoshopaholicious!!

Well.. first of all.. this is a scheduled post just to keep my blog "alive" :P I'm getting quite used to Adobe Photoshop CS4.. It's a really great photo editing software I must say and now, I'm getting to addicted experimenting on this software.. It sort of wasting my time cause I can do other stuff like study *ehm..* =P Here are some pictures that I've edited using Photoshop..

Before

As you can see this picture is quite plain & dull (especially the color)

After

With some editing in Photoshop, the color is more vibrant & I added a little Depth of Field effect towards the background behind the bear to make the picture standout

Here is a picture of my nephew :) It's quite dark as you can see.. can hardly see his face..

AfterHowever after I put some Photoshop magic into this picture, it became much more outstanding.. Now you can see his cute face and I added a little Depth of Field effect towards the background.. Cool eh? You can just fix your picture just by using Photoshop :D

So, if you ever need to edit those ugly pictures (uhm.. like yourself? JK!! :X) that you took, you can use Photoshop to beautify it! :) that includes making a fat person into a thin one (you should see Xiaxue's work at her blog *swt*) In conclusion, even though I like to spend my time on Photoshop, I am NOT - I repeat - I am NOT a super photoshopaholic like Xiaxue!! I did not edit all the pictures that I posted up in my blog -_-"

YouTube - video not available in your country

If you are a frequent YouTube user, I'm sure you will come across this issue. The video that you wanted to view is not available in your country due to bla bla bla.. Alright.. this is how you bypass YouTube country filter or whatever you call that can watch the video you wanted to watch.

This example is for Malaysian YouTubians :D (but if you are reading this from other country, it is the same concept) Okay... Click the following as an example of video which cannot be viewed in Malaysia: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMvrNO9fUM0&annotation_id=annotation_550087&feature=iv

After clicking on that link, you will surely get into this page.. This is just Lady GaGa's Paparazzi music video.. I think the "sex" scene in front is considered too obscene to be viewed by Malaysians or something -_-"

Alright let's get straight to the point. Just follow these simple steps:

[1] Firefox - Download and install this browser

[2] FoxyProxy - Install this add-on after installing Firefox (I included this in this tutorial because it is more convenient as you can save the proxy server and use it the next time by just clicking on it)

[3] Then, go to this website: http://www.samair.ru/proxy/type-01.htm and find the country that have a high probability to be able to view the video.. For this case, I will pick United States.. In the US proxy list, let's say I choose "72.249.125.129:8080" (This proxy might not work now, so it's better to go to the website and select a fresh proxy)

[4] Once you installed FoxyProxy, open Options and Add New Proxy. Under General tab, type in a Proxy Name for example "USA Proxy".

[5] Then, head ahead to the Proxy Details tab and under Manual Proxy Configuration, paste the IP address you copied earlier into the Host or IP Address box - "72.249.125.129" and the "8080" to the Port box. To make thing simple here is a screenshot:

[6] After you have done the steps above, click OK (and everything is going to be OK :D) Right-click on the FoxyProxy bar below Firefox or wherever you may placed it and click Use proxy "USA Proxy" for all URLs.

[7] Go surf whatever video you want which cannot be viewed in Malaysia like the link I posted before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMvrNO9fUM0&annotation_id=annotation_550087&feature=iv

TADAA!! You should be able to view the video!! xD Enjoy~

[*] If you cannot load the page at all then change into a different proxy. Keep trying until you get the right proxy server :)

[*] Make sure you Completely disable FoxyProxy after watching the videos.. If not you will experience slow internet surfing if the proxy server is slow

The Rise of Cobra *hiss*

The first time I ever watch the trailer for the new GI Joe movie, I thought it will be quite boring.. However.. after watching this movie, I find it is better than Transformers 2!! Well.. the ending is so much better and the unpredictability (the part when the President goes underground - you know what I mean if you watch this movie ~ I don't wanna be a spoiler :X) of the movie makes it a nicer movie to watch.. Transformers is too straight forward towards the end.. halfway through and it became BORING!! -_-"

Alright.. here's my cobra in the movie, the Baroness ~ hisss!! IMHO, Sienna Miller is way sexier than Megan Fox!! She can easily blow Megan Fox to pieces!! xD

Hahaha.. enough of sarcasm :P I'm just expressing my own view.. So.. all those Megan Fox fan out there, I know it's hard to say this but.. sorry!! I know she is "hot" but she is nothing compared to Sienna Miller!! :X Such a random post xD till then and..

Dreams.. What do they mean?

I've been thinking a lot lately about whether should I get a digital camera or a new phone with a good picture taking capability.. But today.. I have a weird dream..

I dreamt that I bought Olympus E-P1 together with its accessories worth RM6k+ (in reality, the price of this camera only is RM2,999 without the extra accessories.. maybe if plus the full accessories for this camera it will be RM6k+?) This is a very weird dream.. How can I still remember the price that I bought it? The images of my dream is blur but I can remember that I have this dream..

So now I have a question in mind.. What are dreams? Are they trying to convey a message? Are they trying to tell me that I should get Olympus E-P1? This is really ridiculous!! Why Olympus E-P1? Why this exact same digital camera that appeared in my dream.... WEIRD!!! So now I should buy Olympus E-P1 instead of a phone? Am I going crazy??

It's...7!!

It's August & it is going to be a busy month! It is also the 7th month in Chinese calendar which means.. you know lah~! :P With assignments and presentation, there will be not much of time for updating my blog (as if I'm updating it frequently :X) This post is quite a geeky one so bear with it if you don't understand a single thing I'm saying ;P

So lately I've been posting up bad things about my laptop.. Well, I managed to fix it for the mean time.. Actually it's my own fault for my laptop to malfunction =X I've installed Windows 7 Release Candidate 2 just to try out the new operating system (I'm so attached to it right now) However, Windows 7 was not the problem.. it is the graphic card driver which is causing the Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) (cause I installed a driver for Windows Vista LoL) All those days of experiencing constant BSOD when watching a movie is over! Now I can enjoy the full glory of Windows 7 in my lappie :)

So why I am so attached with Windows 7? First of all, there is a button at the end of the taskbar (as you can see from the picture above) which acts as the Show desktop function.. I find this very convenient as I just need to simply point my mouse at the right end corner of my screen to Show desktop.. This has became a habit of mine! When I'm using the university's computer (Windows XP), I will keep point the cursor to the right end and click it hoping it will Show desktop (this happens all the time -_-")..

In Windows 7, you will get a shiny new Windows Media Player which one of its new function is to Preview a song.. Let's say you forget how a song sounds like.. You just need to click on the Preview button and to listen to it & you can Skip it forward slowly to refresh your memory about that particular song.. Useless at some point but it's better than nothing xD

This is a feature that you gotta love in Windows 7!! It allows you to select a number of pictures you want it as your wallpaper.. Then you set the time (15 minutes interval for example) you want your wallpaper to be switched and viola! Every 15 minutes, Windows 7 will change your wallpaper for you automatically based on the pictures that you selected before.. Pretty neat feature as it is needless to get a third-party software to switch your wallpaper for you

& if you are bored at looking at the wallpaper which is currently displayed in your desktop before the time you set it to change, you can simply right-click and select a new background.. Well.. this switching wallpaper function is definitely appealing to me as I don't like to see the same wallpaper each time I see my laptop (well this can be seen as a lazy person's thing :X)

Well.. I know most probably you do not know what I'm saying at all in this post but I don't care much! I just want you to know that Windows 7 is great (like 7 times better than Vista)! Upgrade to Windows 7 from Windows Vista if you will when it's out cause it eat lesser RAM and does not reduce your HDD's lifespan :) 7 FTW!!! xD
