This post is in relation with the Monash Portal Pics Competition 2009 one.. I'm so exhilarated to see two of my year 2007 pictures to appear in Monash Portal!! xD

This was taken from my balcony in 19th floor of Sun-U Residence :D

& this.. was taken when I was loitering around at the sofas outside the school of business :P

Quick Trip to PAWS

Alright.. at first, I have no intention to write about this but since there is a special request for me to do so.. & so.. here it is! It will be quite a short one though since I didn't take much pictures at PAWS (my hands are covered with paint xD) The morning of Monday, 28/9/2009:

We are supposed to leave Monash University for PAWS at 9AM but ended up leaving at 9.30AM.. LOL! Need wait for people to come.. (nampaknya tidak boleh guna DHL lagi sebab dia lambat sangat :X)

This is the scenery when we arrived at PAWS.. Hmm.. don't know why those two stared at each other so seriously.. Hmm.. "一柱擎天" LOL!! Sorrylah!! Can't help it but to put in those words.. =P

The puppies are so darn cute!!!!!!

This time, we are going to repaint the walls outside PAWS!! So, people are assigned accordingly to paint the wall, do the dogs & do the cats..

Since I'm one of the people who did the repainting, my shorts was horribly tainted by the paint :( Sad man! I kinda like this shorts but I got no others better so sacrifice -_-" Even worse case:

The stupid turpentine discolored my new pair of slippers especially the right one!! SUPER SAD!! This is the second time I wear this slippers (it's a new pair of slippers okay for crying out loud!! ARGH!) and it got damaged so badly.. (to AJ: Padini slippers are not as expensive as those Nike or Quicksilver or even Billabong okay? I'm not that rich -_-")

So after all that painting and stuff, we went to Fullhouse in Ara Damansara which is just a few minutes drive* from PAWS..

* EHEM! With illegal method used! xD

Here is what we ordered.. Don't want to write much about it *hmph* So this is "our food and I.."

"Our dessert and I.." *hmph* - Sorry for people who don't know what is this about.. it's sort of internal joke thingy =P

NEW RUMOUR!! Now you can start about this and stop talking weird rumours about me ok? :P This time trip to PAWS sure is as fun as the other times.. Sadly I don't have the group photos (it is in Tze Yuen's camera).. I think you can see it together with the details of this trip when it is posted up the LEO MUSC blog which is I don't know when -_-" That's all my report for this trip ;P

Give > Take

The last time I posted about the Monash Ball 2009, I forgot to mention something which is sort of related to this post.. There is a lucky draw during the ball.. Apparently, that "sun of a beach" don't know how to pick a ticket number out properly.. Most number he took out are 07XX or 08XX (I can't remember..) This is not fair!! Why he took out tickets only from one part of the box?.. Sad!!!

A freakin' lucky gal got a Samsung Omnia!! OMGWTFBBQ!! FYI, Samsung Omnia worth around RM2k!! OMGWTFBBQ again!! Okay.. to sum it up they gave away Epson printer, iPod Shuffle, perfume, etc etc. zZz.. I'm so damn unlucky!! (T.T) Oh wells, that the topic this time: to give more than what you take.. In this case I gave RM80 to go to the ball and took less stuff (sucky food and empty handed)

Aiya.. since some people want to see some photo.. here it is..  =P Actually I'm in the midst of collecting my pictures scattered around in my friends' camera (cause I felt too embarrassed to use my phone to take picture.. PAISEH!!).. So this is the one of the first pictures I received xD Hmm.. if my hair was longer, I can do sort of Adam Lambert style but oh wells.. :X

I just learned something really valuable which is that in life, you must give more than you take! I used to give more than what I take but then due to some reasons, I don't anymore. So, from today onwards, I will give more than I take.. That means doing stuff without expecting something in return.. (now I really know what am I doing in LEO) Why don't you too try to do so? Give it a try and perhaps you will live a happier life :)

Monash Ball 2009 at Sunway Hotel

Been thinking of lots of deep and negative thoughts lately.. Lost my appetite and spirit.. This must be one of the downside in my life.. So, I try to "enjoy" myself in Monash Ball but it didn't quite work out.. [not to say the ball sucks but it just too mediocre for me.. nothing big] The theme of this year is Vogue which means you can see many people wearing high-fashion clothing.. As for me, I just wear my old outfit (no coat or vest) which is so normal that I feel a little inferior.. 25th of September, the day of the ball.. I can see many people are excited over it but for no reason, I'm not.. Girls took hours to makeup themselves and lots of people ended up late for the ball..

Look at the crowd of latecomers waiting to go into the hall.. Well, it's almost 8.30pm and I'm glad there are others who are as late as me..

After the wait, we finally managed to get into the hall missing only a few boring performances (arrival of VIP thingy).. The picture shown above is where I sat.. It's way back to the end of the hall and since it is so hard to see anything from this place, thanks to the to the waiter/waiteress walking around and some standing in the middle showing their backsides (HELLO?! Can you move?! I don't want to see your arse!! Urgh.. whatever..) and the stage or wherever the perform is too low, I cannot see a thing at all (resolved by standing up)..

This is the menu: Green Bean and Prawn Timbale, Fresh Herb Salad and Confit Tomatoes; Superior Chicken Broth with Lemongrass and Wantan; Grilled Herb Brushed Spring Chicken Confit Garlic Polenta Cake, Roasted Vegetables and Honey Mustard Sauce; Coconut Crème Brulee Pineapple Maple Syrup Ice Cream and Sugar Snap; Orange Cordial. Okay.. those are a very long name for a dish -_-" Oh wells, at least you know what ingredients they used..

Orange Cordial.. 'nuff said!

This is not in the menu.. For the hungry mob who cannot wait for the food to come..

Green Bean and Prawn Timbale, Fresh Herb Salad and Confit Tomatoes. I don't like the waiters serve the table.. They randomly serve the food to people (some get to eat first and some just stare at them & sadly, I'm one of the person staring at others enjoying their food -_-")!! This dish is not bad actually.. it is of average only for me :P

Superior Chicken Broth with Lemongrass and Wantan. Well, well.. I paid RM80 to eat this chicken and wantan soup which I get everytime I order a Wantan Noodle =_=

This is Grilled Herb Brushed Spring Chicken Confit Garlic Polenta Cake, Roasted Vegetables and Honey Mustard Sauce. Such a long name -_-" Okay.. this.. I don't like the flavoring of it.. It is as if the flavors are not harmonized in this dish.. Weird!! I not so like it..

Finally, Coconut Crème Brulee Pineapple Maple Syrup Ice Cream and Sugar Snap. I can say this dessert flavors are all over the place! If I mix each and every bit of the thing in this mug, I can taste something weird.. If I eat bits by bits, I can taste lots of different flavors which do not exist in harmony =X However, there is one part of this dish that taste good and since my taste became unresponsive, I don't know what is that taste..

There are many entertainers who came to the ball.. Henry Golding (don't know who is this), Sarah Lian (heard before but don't know who she is.. hope she's not Ah Lian), Esther (some local TV singing competition candidate), Reshmonu (oh yeah.. I know this guy :D) and some others which I don't even know what are their names..

What I think of this ball? Everything is a rush! The dance floor opened a little to late, and there is such a limited time for people to dance! The songs that they played are so inappropriate for a "ball".. Plus, AHH.. enough for scrutinizing (I don't want to get sued or something) =X I did not enjoy but I did have some good time (ugh what am I saying -_-") But hey!!.. one good thing about this ball is the...

Complimentary tickets to Ministry of Sound (MOS)!! I didn't enjoy much inside as there are no real kakis for such event.. Finally, since the lighting of the room is always at dark conditions, my camera cannot take good pictures with it so I didn't take much photos that night.. sad right? How I wish I have a DSLR in my hands.. dream on.. dream on..

Imbecilic Mourning for the Late

Frankly speaking, I think people who mourn for other's death are blind idiots. You can disagree with me in this statement but don’t look at me differently after reading this. Everyone got their own perspective on things – just accept this fact!

First of all, life goes on. I think Carrie Underwood's Wheel of the World song is best to describe this situation. I will show you the method that I use when I tried psychoanalyzing William Blake (but it turned out to be a sex manual in the end looking at the lecturer's comment -_-"). This is not a psychoanalysis but I’m trying to explain the words used in the lyrics :)
Love goes out, out like a light.
Out like a flame and you can’t find it anymore.
Just when you think it’s lost in the rain, it comes back knockin' at your door.
This shows that love (as in your loved ones) can leave you anytime. Even worse, they can also leave you permanently (pass away). As you cannot accept their departure, it will haunt you (as in you mourn over them for a very long time and think negative thoughts).
God put us here on this carnival ride.
We close our eyes, never knowing where it'll take us next.
Babies are born, and at the same time, someone's taking their last breath.
We are all being born in this world with no power or control over the course of nature. If we just ignore the people in this world, we will not expect what to happen next to them and how it may affect us. People come and go.
It’s the wheel of the world.
It’s the wheel of the world turning around.
In the blink of an eye, it can change your life.
And it never even slows down.
It is the course of nature that people come and go. At a split of second, it can affect your life (you lost someone forever in your life). This course of nature can never be stopped.
It can open your heart, it can break you apart.
And it never even slows down.
It’s the wheel of the world turning around.
The lost of someone precious to you can open your eyes (to cherish the people that you love when you’re still alive) and it can also affect you severely (to think negative thoughts like not appreciating him/her when they are still alive). However, it’s all too late, as the course of nature is unstoppable.

Alright back to the point! Why I think people who mourn for other’s death are blind idiots? Their mourning shows the sense of regret in them. This sense of regret is duly to their ignorance over the late person. For instance, when the late person is still alive, they did not appreciate him/her (as in on what he/she did for you). And only after his death that they realized how important that person is to them. This is ironic! I think that people who appreciate and cherish someone plus make the best out of their lives will not feel a sense of regret towards the person’s lost. What I’m trying to say here is that if that person lived happily every minute of his/her life as you have always cherish him/her, you will never regret for his/her loss as you will think that the person has lived enough as a person in this world.

It’s complicated and it’s hard for me to explain.. I might end up twisting this into a wrong statement so I will stop here. Hope you get my point. It is blind for a person not to cherish his/her loved ones when they are still close to them. They will be an idiot if they only managed to realize this after they lost their loved ones. And that is ladies and gentlemen for an imbecile who mourns for someone’s death.

However, sadness is another thing. When this happens, you will only feel shocked and down for a moment and this will not badly effect you. You accept his/her death and continue to move on (that’s what life is.. it’s the Wheel of the World turning around!). I hope you are not one of those blind people who take life for granted.. In conclusion, live life happily and consciously!! Cherish and appreciate your loved ones (friends and family) at all times!! Regret now, don’t regret later.. peace out!

Revolver..

"...My love's a revolver, my sex is a killer.
Do you wanna die happy? Do you wanna die happy?
I let it bang bang! I send a bang bang!..."

"...The victim didn’t complain, she just screamed shoot again.
I gave her extra rounds. My barrel twist around.
I am Mr shoot ‘em down. I leave hearts on the ground.
My love-using weapon. And yes I use it well.
Then I let the rose petals cover up the bullet shells.
I never shoot and tell. I only shoot to kill.
And the vest ain't gonna help it even if you’re laying still.
My love is a revolver. Do you want to be my target?
Coz I’m a sharp shooter. Matter of fact im the sharpest.
My aim is so flawless, girl you can be the farthest.
I'ma still shoot my love, let me know that you caught it.
I'm the trigger man, I pull it. I will when he wouldn’t.
Do you want to eat the bullet? And I know where to put it..."
Madonna ft. Lil' Wayne - Revolver

Well, you know.. you can decipher those lyrics into another context.. [Hint: the revolver (gun/pistol) could represent the phallic no?] That's the beauty of language in lyrics today.. such metaphoric.. ahh.. ;D -END of LAME post-

Footprints of a Nomad..

I can clearly consider myself as a nomad. I had moved at least 4 times ever since began studying in Monash (and I'm planning to find a new place all over again now).. This is a log of places that I've stayed so far to remind myself how hard is it for me to settle down in one place and just wanted to share this experience of mine..

The first time I came into Monash, I was situated in Mentari Court by the hostel management of Sunway..

Here is a view of my window in Mentari Court.. Pathetic isn't it? It got no nice view at all.. Due to safety reasons and also the distance of this place to Monash University, I've applied for a change to Sunway-Monash Condominium which is now known as Sun-U Residence..

Here is my view when I was allocated to the 19th floor in Sun-U Residence..

And this is a better view of the scenery inside my room.. However, I've planned to change my room to a lower floor in the condominium at that time.. As my tenancy expired and I was unable to renew it, I search for another place to live in the condominium.. I found a private unit at the 8th floor of the condominium.. it sounds like a good deal for me as that is what I am looking for at that time..

This is the view through my window on the 8th floor.. I thought this is the place that I'm going to live in for the rest of my studies in Monash University in Sunway campus but it isn't!! I despise my housemates here.. just to give you a hint, they are not Malaysians (Malaysia's neighbour).. I don't want to offend anyone right now.. I really wanted to move out from this place as soon as my contract ends because the electricity bill that this 1 unit produces each month exceeds RM500 and the maximum that I've seen is RM1000+.. This is totally absurd as I did not use as much electricity as they did!!

and now.. I'm currently living on the 4th floor in Indah Villa.. I thought this will be the place that I will settle down for as it has a nice view of Sunway Lagoon not to mention the free viewing of concerts held here..

The thing that drives me crazy about this place is that it is really noisy in the morning.. Once Sunway Lagoon starts to operate, loud music can be heard and also the screaming of people sitting on the 360 degrees  spinning ship thingy.. Urgh.. I can't concentrate when I'm in this sort of environment!!

At night, this place became serene.. but the fact that I've been experiencing bad luck ever since I lived in this place (never before i keep injuring myself again and again after one of my injuries healed) makes me even want to move out.. this is most probably due to the bad feng shui..

The good thing of being a nomad is that it trained me to adapt to a new environment quickly.. I really can't settle down when living in a place that I really don't feel comfortable of.. How lah my life?..

Pre-Use!!

This is a scheduled post just to keep my blog alive.. It's the 15th of September 2009 & in conjunction with the Go Green (organized by LEO Club) week in Monash, Toyota is invited to showcase their hybrid car, Prius (you can pronounce it as pre-use [think this suits the environment thingy] or pre-us.. it's up to you but of course not other silly pronounciation like "purse" or perhaps "peh-rai-us").. The purpose of this is to create an awareness among the students to care more about our environment or you can say brainwash rich Monash students to purchase a Prius next time..

Unfortunately, the Prius that they brought is a 2nd Generation one as there is no 3rd Generation Prius available on this day for showcase..

Since hybrid cars are still new to Malaysians, many gathered to take a look at the car (including myself :D)..

This is the engine of the car - so minimal!! By now you will be thinking if the front part of the car is so short, the car must be spacious right?

Well it is!! At the back of the car, I can sit comfortably albeit I'm a rather tall person (I always have trouble sitting at the backseat [including Vios!!] ESPECIALLY in small cars like Kancil or Kelisa!!!)

Have a human corpse or two to dispose? No worries!! Prius' boot is large enough to fit those corpse(s) [depend of the size] ;P

And this.. is the dashboard! I can say this car have many compartments - too much that you can forgot where you put your stuff!! See that screen in between the air-conditioner? It is touchscreen but sadly it doesn't come with a GPS..

A new weird thing about this car is its gear shifting stick (ugh.. whatever you call it).. It looked a little fragile to me.. Look at the video below to see how it use to change the gear (you can turn off this site music temporary but going to the top of the page and click on the pause button):

I apologize for the lousy quality of this video (recorded it using Nokia N82) and us being like jakun cause we really never sit in a hybrid car before!! :P So.. do you wish you have a car like that? Well.. if you are an assassin, I suggest you to get this car.. as you can see and hear in the video, the car runs quietly and according to the guy, a half fuel tank of Prius can get the car moving as far as 300km (I think.. can't remember the facts properly :P).. Hence, besides having a large trunk to dispose the corpse, you will have no worries of running out of fuel! Hahaha.. so lame.. xD

Frankly, I think the 2nd Generation Prius have a flimsy interior as most parts are very plastic-like (not so environmental friendly huh :P) and also the seats are hard and not so good material (try sweating and sitting on it.. you can see your sweat stain there eww..).. I hope the 3rd Generation one won't be the same (perhaps leather seats or something? :P).. Also, the cost of a 3rd Generation Toyota Prius is freaking high as it retails at around RM175k where you can get a 2.4L Toyota Camry.. I think.Malaysians (money minded) are not willing to purchase hybrids car (which targets environmental conscious people) yet as they are to bloody expensive (this includes the Honda Civic hybrid).. Will you buy one?

Monash Portal Pics Competition 2009

Just FYI.. To all employed staffs and enrolled students of Monash University, if you want to try your luck to win a bookshop voucher (I think for Australia campus only zZz!!) worth AUD200 from Monash University, you can try to enter the Portal login pics competition! Click here for more information.

As for me, I think the winning prizes are useless because I am not planning to exchange or transfer to Australia at the moment. However, I will enter this competition just to try my luck and perhaps put a challenge to my photography skills :) Looking through my albums in my hard drive, the only time I ever take pictures around Monash University Sunway Campus is when I first enrolled into this university (year 2007). I find most of my pictures not suitable for this competition.. Say.. I can't simply put a picture that shows about my bad experience in Monash don't I? Surely cannot win already lah if I do so!!

For example.. THIS!!! In year 2007, I found this worm inside my chicken rice soup which I almost eat it (or maybe I already had -_-") Don't worry! The old chicken rice shop was replaced with a new one :X

& also.. this poor thing which I found dead lying down on the floor outside the library.. Ugh sorry for the gruesomeness :P I can't help it xD

Also, when I browsing through Monash Portal to see some participants picture, I found one picture which is almost the same as one of the pictures I took in 2007 with my Sony Ericsson k800i!! Argh.. this is heartbreaking as I think I took a better picture than this guy :(

Look at this guy's version from this point of view.. and compare it to mine (I'm bragging here :P) below:

Hahahaha... Its up to you to judge which is better.. I purposely put my name on the picture so no one can steal it and use it to join the competition (I'm being paranoid here :P)

So if you are a Monash student or staff, why not try your luck joining this competition? It'd be fun if you got nothing better to do other than tons of workload and assignments.. ugh I know this is sensitive here opps!! ;D Wish me luck too! I will try to participate in this competition using my old year 2007 picture LoL.. :P
